The Department of Humanities and social sciences was established in 1997 at the Campus of VBS Purvanchal University Jaunpur. This Department plays a unique and distinctive role in Faculty of Engineering and Technology, where ethos of Science and Technology prevails. It is believed that Engineering and Science are, by their nature, humanistic and socially derived enterprises. Hence, a complete Science and Technology education must include English, Philosophy, Economics, Social and Behavioral Sciences where the students unite the applications of scientific principles along with human moral and social understanding. The different courses for B. Tech. students like: Human values and Professional Ethics, Professional Communication, Remedial English, Industrial Psychology, Industrial Sociology, Managerial Economics and Industrial Management are taught by the department. The department has a language lab.

Dr. Sarita Singh

Dr. Sarita Singh joined the department as a Lecturer in June 2006. She has done M.A. in English and Philosophy and obtained Ph.D. degree from VBS Purvanchal University, Jaunpur. She has excellent academic carrier as evident by throughout first class. Dr. Singh has written one book and published ten research papers and articles in national and international journals and books. She has attended more than two dozen conferences and seminars and delivered talk in more than one dozen conferences and seminars.
