Prof. S. K. Joshi
Former Director General, CSIR & Professor Emeritus
National Physical Laboratory New Delhi

Dr. S. K. Joshi was born on 06 June 1935. He studied at the Allahabad University and did his Ph.D. in Physics from there in 1962. His broad field of research interest is Condensed Matter Theory. He had earlier worked on Collision Processes in Atomic and Molecular Systems also. Dr. Joshi was Professor of Physics at the University of Roorkee (Now IIT, Roorkee) from 1967 till 1986. He was the Director of National Physical Laboratory from 1986-1991. He held the position of the Director General CSIR from 1991 till 1995. He was elected Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy in 1974 (He was Secretary of the Academy during 1983-86 and Foreign Secretary during 1989-92). He was the President of the INSA from 1993 till 1995. He is a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences since 1974 and was Vice President from 1989-91. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences and was its President for 2001-2002. Dr. Joshi was the President of Indian Physics Association during 1989-90, President of the Materials Research Society of India during 1995-97, and the President of the Indian Science Congress Association for the year 1996-97. Dr Joshi is a Fellow of the Third World Academy of Sciences, and a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He won Watumull Memorial Prize for 1965, Shanti Swarup Prize for Physical Sciences for 1972, CSIR Silver Jubilee Award 1973 and Meghnad Saha Award for Research in Theoretical Sciences in 1974. He received FICCI Award in Physical Sciences for 1990 and Goyal Prize in Physics from Goyal Foundation in 1993. He received CV Raman Medal of INSA in 1999. He was awarded Padma Shri in 1991 and Padma Bhushan in 2003. He received D.Sc (honoris causa) from Kumaon University in 1994, Kanpur University in 1995, Banaras Hindu University in 1996 and University of Burdwan in 2005, and Bhimrao Ambedkar University. (Agra University ) in 2008. Dr Joshi’s major research contributions span over a wide variety of topics in solid state theory. His early researches were concerned mainly with theoretical study of phonons in metals and insulators. Dr Joshi studied electronic states in disordered systems and electron correlations in narrow band solids. He also worked on surface states and surface segregation. The current research interest of Dr Joshi lies in strongly correlated electron systems like high temperature superconductors. He is also working in nanoscience, especially electron transport in quantum dots and nanotubes. Dr Joshi has supervised the Ph.D. thesis of 20 scholars and has published more than 190 research papers.

Prof. B.K. Agrawal

FNA, FNASc.

Prof. Agrawal has obtained M. Sc., D. Phil and D. Sc. Degrees from Allahabad University. He was Head of Physics Dept of Allahabad University during 1995-99 and started a new special course in Condensed Matter Physics for M.Sc. final students in 1995. Prof Agrawal has published more than 200 research papers; more than 55 in Physical Review and Physical Rev. Letts.  He was awarded Fellowship of INSA (FNA), New Delhi in 1988 on the work done at Allahabad University. He was awarded Fellowship of National Academy of Sciences, India (FNASc). Prof Agrawal was chairman of DST INSPIRE Faculty programme Selection committee for Material Sciences. Prof Agrawal has worked on almost all the Physical properties of different types of solids containing point, line and surface defects. He has predicted High values of Tc’s in various types of superconductors, Oxides, Fullerenes etc. Prof Agrawal has studied  and predicted various physical properties of Nanodots, Nanofilms, and Carbon Nanotubes. He has shown water flow through small diameter Carbon Nanotubes which is useful for water filtering and biological applications. Prof Agrawal has  predicted gap in Graphene deposited on SiC – substrate in conformity with the experiments. Prof Agrawal has recently predicted Giant Magnetism in Punched Graphene Zigzag Edge Triangular Nanodisks for generation of magnetic storage and quantum bits for Quantum computers.

Prof. Lakshminarayan Hazra

 

Lakshminarayan Hazra obtained his M. Tech. (1970) and Ph.D. (1976) degrees from the University of Calcutta.  His current areas of interest are Optical System Design, Zoom Lens Design, Diffractive Optics, Optical and Ophthalmic instrumentation, Aberration Theory, Theories of Image Formation, Super Resolution, Global Optimization, Laser Beam Shaping, Optical Tweezers, Fractal Optics, Metamaterials, Pareto-optimality and Solar Concentrator Optics.

He has undertaken major research projects on many of these topics.

he joined the faculty of the Department of Applied Physics of the University of Calcutta in 1979. he devised new techniques for imaging in telescopes working in turbulent medium, and he designed a remote access zoom objective for monitoring open-heart surgery during his tenure as a Nuffield Foundation Fellow in United Kingdom during 1982-83.

Prof. Hazra developed New methods for structural design of optical systems the optical design software ‘Ray Analysis Package’ (RAP). Prof. Hazra took the lead in establishing the Department of Applied Optics and Photonics at the University of Calcutta in 2005, which is the only one of its kind in the country. He is currently associated as an Emeritus Professor with this department.

He is a life fellow of the Optical Society of India (OSI) he was General Secretary of OSI for more than 15 years, and Editor-in-chief of the OSI ‘Journal of Optics’.

He is a fellow of both the Optical Society of America and the SPIE, the international society for Optics and Photonics. Prof. Hazra is the representative for the Indian Territory in the International Commission for

 

Dr. Vilas Ajabrao Tabhane, D.Sc.

Mr. Girish Narain Pandey is an Ex- Principal Chief Income Tax Commissioner(IRS) at Income Tax Department, Government of India.He has served the Department of Income Tax at various capacities.  He has also served  Indian Forest Services(IFS).He did his M.Sc. in Physics from University of Allahabad. Besides this, he has also completed LL.B and M.B.A .He is a voracious reader and a prolific writer in English and Hindi. He has several articles and books to his credit. His poem  ”Dadhichi” is included in the course curriculum of University of Mysore.He has won many awards for his literary work. He is actively involved in creating awareness about constitutional rights amongst the common citizens of the country.

Prof.Kirti Singh is former Vice-Chancellor of Narendra Deva Univ. of Agricultural  & Technology, Faizabad (UP); Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University and  Indira Gandhi Agricultural  University.He has held the position of Chairman, World Noni Research Foundation,from 2006 to date. He as also the Chairman of  Agricultural Scientist  Recruitment Board and  Advisor to Govt. of Nepal for Establishment of Agricultural University. He held the position of Consultant ,Food and Agriculture Organisation(FAO) of UN, in Cambodia. He has published several books and  research papers and has national and international projects to his credit.He has been conferred Leonard Vaughan Award of American Society of Horticultural  Sciences(1961), Purvanchal Ratna Award (2003); HSI Shiv Shakti Life Time Achievement Award (2007); World Wellness Open University Life Time Achievement Award (2008).His research areas are Vegetable science and Noni science.

2.Prof.M.Muzammil

Prof.M.Muzammil is  former Vice Chancellor of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra & Mahatma Jyotiba Phule (MJP) Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. He is a Visiting Fellow in the South Asian Visiting Scholarship Programme (SAVSP) of the University of Oxford.He is a Member of the Research Program Consortium of the Department of Education, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. He  was a Member of the Direct Taxes Advisory Committee, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Government of India (2013-15).He is a Member of the Advisory Committee of the NRC, ICSSR Indian Council of Social Science Research. He was the President of the Uttar Pradesh Uttaranchal Economic Association (UPUEA) in 2004-13.He has published six books and more than 200 articles in various journals and newspapers.He has been conferred Saraswati Samman (2011)  and Shikshak Shree Samman (2009) by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. His are of interests are Human Development in South Asia and Agricultural and Resource Economics.

 

3.Prof.H.P. Mathur

Prof.H.P. Mathur teaches at FMS, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He  is having rich experience in academic administration, research and teaching. Prof. Mathur organized a large number of EDPs / MDPs / Conferences / Conclaves / Quality Improvement Programs of AICTE. He also conducts corporate training and personality development programs. He has published a number of articles / papers in reputed Foreign/Indian Journals. He has also authored 12 books besides having several edited volumes. He has completed/working on many research projects.  He acts as expert member at different committees and academic bodies. He has been awarded as Best Placement Officer and Nurturer of Talent in the World Educational Congress Global Awards (2012). His are of interests are Banking, Strategic Management  and Finance.
4.Prof.Parvaiz Talib

Prof.Parvaiz Talib  is Dean at Faculty of Management Studies and Research.. He has teaching experience of more than 29 years. His areas of research are Stress Management, Strategy, CSR and Human Resource Management. He has published papers in national and international journals like Vikalpa, Indian Police Journal and International Journal of Logistics Systems and Management. His articles have appeared in Times of India. His special interest lies in Counseling and Guidance of students. He trains students, young teachers and corporate professionals in Communication Skills and Personality Development. He successfully coordinated an 18 Crore prestigious project of New Management Complex (NMC) in AMU, built through Donors’ support. This facility is now the new home of Department of Business Administration and Faculty of Management

5.Prof.S.K.Yadav

Prof.S.K.Yadav is former Head,NECRT,New Delhi. He has more than thirty years experience in research, training,development and extension in the field of TeacherEducation in NCERT, New Delhi. Served on academic and management committees of both central and state universitiesand advisory committees of their departments. He  was member of the task force/working groups of education commission and committee constituted by the MHRD and state governments during the last three decades.He was also associated with the work on education steered by international organisation(UNESCO, SAARC, World Bank). He has published  manybooks based on research, social issues emerging from education of the

marginal groups and cooperative studies besides research papers, articles including in peer

review journals and monographs.

6.Prof.Hari Prakash

Prof.Hari Prakash is former Dean, Faculty of Sciences, University of Allahabad.He has also held the position of Head, Department of Physics and was the Director of Institute of Inter-Disciplinary Studies, University of Allahabad. He also served as Professor at IIITA Allahabad.He has 125 research paper publications in various national and international journals and has completed many government funded projects. He has guided 10 Ph.D students. He was conferred with “Distinguished Teacher Award-2005” by the University of Allahabad.He specializes in quantum optics,non linear optics and quantum information.

7.Prof.Ranjana Prakash

Prof.Ranjana Prakash served the Department of Physics, University of Allahabad for  more than 25 years. She completed her M.Sc in Physics and Ph.D in Non Linear Optics from the University of Allahabad.She was the warden of Priyadarshini Hostel at the University which is the largest women’s hostel in Asia.She was a member of  Women’s Advisory Board, served as the Director of Innovation Cell and was the Coordinator of Biotechnology Cell at the University of Allahabad. She also served as a Placement Officer and had placed more than 4000 students across different streams.Prof.Ranjana has prepared UGC modules on Women Empowerment and published many research papers in leading national and international journals. Her areas of interests are quantum mechanics, non linear optics and quantum information theory.

Prof.Pinaki Dasgupta is a Professor of Marketing  at International Management Institute, New Delhi. He is also the Dean (Corporate Relations and Placements)at the institute. He has done his  Ph.D from Banaras Hindu University.  He has served as a faculty at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade(IIFT) for about 15 years and is a visiting faculty to many international management institutes. He has many research papers in various reputed national and international journals to his credit and organized a number of seminars, conferences and FDP’s and MDP’s. His areas of interest are Brand Management, Consumer Behaviour and International Business.

Mr.Ranjeet Singh is Vice President with Jubilant Life Sciences Limited, Noida holding responsibility of Global sales and marketing.He is an alumnus of IIM Kolkata and has over 25 years of Industry exposure in various profiles including strategy, P&L management and global trade. He is honored with various awards including “Global Icon of the Year 2016” for this commendable role. Mr.Ranjeet has many research papers to his credentials and has academic exposures and teaches as Guest Faculty at many  Management Institutions in the areas of  CRM and International Trade.  He is actively involved with several organizations and bodies that generate social awareness and Philanthropy. 1.Prof.H.P. Mathur

Prof.H.P. Mathur teaches at FMS, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He  is having rich experience in academic administration, research and teaching. Prof. Mathur organized a large number of EDPs / MDPs / Conferences / Conclaves / Quality Improvement Programs of AICTE. He also conducts corporate training and personality development programs. He has published a number of articles / papers in reputed Foreign/Indian Journals. He has also authored 12 books besides having several edited volumes. He has completed/working on many research projects.  He acts as expert member at different committees and academic bodies. He has been awarded as Best Placement Officer and Nurturer of Talent in the World Educational Congress Global Awards (2012). His are of interests are Banking, Strategic Management  and Finance.

2.Dr.Arun Singh

Dr.Arun Singh  is former Principal   of T.D.P.G.College, Jaunpur (UP). He was also the Head of Department of Philosophy. He did his M.A.in Philosophy from University of Agra and Ph.D in Philosophy from DDU Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur.He has published many research papers in various reputed journals and has guided 20 Ph.D students.His areas of interest are Existentialism, Spirituality and Science, Science and Human Values.

 3.Prof.Sajid Jamal

 Prof. Sajid Jamal is working as Professor in Department of Education of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He has worked with Shibli National College Azamgarh and with Maulana Azad National Urdu University,Bhopal. He has published five  books  and about 20 research papers in scholarly National and International journals. He is a member of the committee set up by NCERT New Delhi and SCERT Bhopal to write text books for B.Ed Course. He is associated with IGNOU as academic counsellor. He has acted as a resource person for UGC HRDC AMU Aligarh, MANUU, IASE Bhopal, MP Bhoj Open University, Bhopal. He is a life member of Learning Community (Association for Learners). He is also an active member of Editorial Boards of various reputed National and International Journals of India and abroad. He has been a regular visiting team member of NCTE to carry out Inspection for the recognition of B.Ed Course.He has been a member of NIOS Inspection Team.
He has discharged administrative responsibilities successfully as a First Principal of MANUU CTE Asansol.

 4.Prof.S.A.Ansari

Prof. S.A.  is serving at MONIRBA, University of Allahabad, Allahabad. As a keen researcher and prolific writer, he has a large number of research papers and articles published in different journals of repute. During 2002-2006, he has been Hony. Director of Agro Economic Research Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. Of India and co-edited the ‘Glimpses of Indian Agriculture’ published in two volumes by the Academic Foundation in association with Directorate of Economics & Statistics.
He is a Gold Medallist, Chancellor’s Medal Awardee, National Merit Scholarship and Junior Research Fellowship holder.He chaired the Track 2 session on “Financial Derivatives and Stock Options in India” at the 59th All India Commerce Conference held at Vishakhapatnam in Dec. 2006.He has also been conferred with the “Honour of being the Fellow of Indian Commerce Association in 2006 for his outstanding contribution in the field of Commerce and Management.” He has also chaired many a session at a number of national and international seminars/symposia and he has been the member of the Executive Committee of Indian Commerce Association during 2007-2009.  5.Prof.Jabir Ali

Prof.Jabir Ali  is Principal at ICCMRT, Lucknow.He has been associated with Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow; G.B. Pant Social Science Institute, Allahabad and National Centre for Agricultural Economics and Policy Research, New Delhi.He has published more than 40 research papers in refereed national and international journals.He is  Member of Sub-group on Land and Water Resources – Agriculture, Irrigation and Allied Sectors under the Eleventh Five Year Plan (2007-12) of Uttar Pradesh by the State Planning Commission, Department of Planning, Government of Uttar Pradesh and as member in State Level Committee of SGSY, Department of Rural Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh. He has earlier contributed in academic administration as the Chairman of Management Development Programme Centre (Executive Education) at IIM Lucknow.His areas of interest in teaching and research include Business Environment and Policy Analysis, International Trade Logistics, Commodity Futures and Options, Social Marketing and Social Entrepreneurship.

 6.Dr.Sarah Nasreen

 Dr.Sarah Nasreen, is Regional Director, IGNOU,Bhagalpur.She has more than two decades of experience in academics and administration. She was responsible for establishing many IGNOU centres including at Ranchi,Deoghar and Bhagalpur. She has also served as  Regional Director at  National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhubaneswar and has worked as Regional Director at Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad.She has published many research papers in  national and international journals.As a trainer, she has  given managerial inputs to the entrepreneurs under Prime Minister Rojgar Yojna in trainings conducted by District Industry Centre, Gaya.She has  been actively associated with different activities of DIET, Gaya as resource person in different women and gender-issues related programmes. Her areas of interest include training & development and stress management.

 7.Prof.Parvaiz Talib

Prof.Parvaiz Talib  is Dean at Faculty of Management Studies and Research.. He has teaching experience of more than 29 years. His areas of research are Stress Management, Strategy, CSR and Human Resource Management. He has published papers in national and international journals like Vikalpa, Indian Police Journal and International Journal of Logistics Systems and Management. His articles have appeared in Times of India. His special interest lies in Counseling and Guidance of students. He trains students, young teachers and corporate professionals in Communication Skills and Personality Development. He successfully coordinated an 18 Crore prestigious project of New Management Complex (NMC) in AMU, built through Donors’ support. This facility is now the new home of Department of Business Administration and Faculty of Management

8.Dr.Faiza Abbasi

Dr.Faiza Abbasi is Assistant Director, UGC-HRDC,Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. She is responsible for the implementation of  Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching(PMMMNMTT) through Centre for Academic Leadership and  Education Management (CALEM),Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh  at different academic institutions in the country. Besides she has coordinated many Orientation Courses, Refresher Courses and Short Term Courses at UGC-HRDC,Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. She is involved in recording and collating natural history observations, sampling of ecological parameters and field ornithology for the past 18 years at different places in India.Her areas of interest are Wild Life Science and Bio-diversity Conservation.

9.Dr.P.K.Mishra

Dr.P.K.Mishra is an Ex-General Manager(Geophysics) with Oil & Natural Gas Corporation. He did his

M Sc (Physics) and PhD from University of Allahabad and has many research papers in International Journals of Pure & Applied Physics and Geophysics.He has also served as a faculty in Physics at Bundelkhand University, Jhansi.As a Geophysicist in Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), he has  more than 30 years of wide range of experience and expertise in oil & gas fields of Indian Basins As an exploration Geoscientist, he has analysed basin with seismic stratigraphy, sequence stratigrahpy, tectonic evolution and depositional history of Basins. He is skilled in integrating, geological, geophysical (seismic 2D and 3D and time lapse 3D)well data, to firm up geological model to map drillable prospects (both structural and stratigraphic). He was also deputed to  ONGC Videsh, subsidiary of ONGC, for technical evaluation of different countries, Gabon, Sudan,Angola, Libya, UK , Yemen , Papua New Guinea Basin, Guinea Bissau of Africa, Morocco Basin of NW of Africa. His areas of interests are geophysics, seismic stratigraphy and tectonic evolution.
