Introduction

Physics Department was established in 1997 to impart the knowledge of Physics to the all Engineering students studying at Uma Nath Singh Institute of Engineering & Technology. The Department has a well-equipped laboratory of capacity 60 students at a time. The experiments in the laboratory are based on Optics, Mechanics, electricity, magnetism etc. The courses Engineering Physics-I and Engineering Physics –II which covers different topics of Physics like Optics, Fiber optics , Laser, Theory of relativity, Electromagnetism, Holography, Quantum Mechanics and Nanotechnology etc. are taught to all the students of Engineering. A large collection of the books on Physics are available in Institute library as well as Vivekanad Central library.

• Dr. Santosh Kumar is working as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department. Dr. Kumar has done his M.Sc.(Spectroscopy as Specialization) & D.Phil. degree from University of Allahabad, Allahabad. His area of research is Diatomic Molecular Physics, Laser Spectroscopy and Bio Physics etc. He has published 09 research papers in different journal of International and National repute. He has also participated and presented research papers in 10 National and International conferences. Dr. Kumar has teaching and research experience of more than 11 years.
  
  Presently department has two faculty members M. Santosh Kumar and Mr. Arun Kumar Srivastava. Mr. Srivastava has done his M.Sc. degree from V.B.S Purvanchal University, Jaunpur and has specialization in electronics Mr. Srivastava has a teaching experience of 03 ye
